Scholarly Profile Audit Service
The Libraries can help researchers strengthen their scholarly identity by improving the accuracy and completeness of their scholarly profiles. Maintaining accurate profiles helps ensure compliance with funder requirements, distinguishes your publications from those of researchers with similar names, and supports the accurate calculation of citation-based metrics, including the h-index, that are often used in grant applications, annual reviews, and promotion & tenure evaluations.
Researchers may maintain profiles across a variety of platforms, including:
- Author identifier systems such as ORCiD, Scopus, and Web of Science
- Google Scholar which allows for the creation of author profiles
- ResearchGate - a professional networking platform for sharing and discovering research
During the audit, Librarians will evaluate profiles across commonly used platforms, including ORCID, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate, and provide guidance on linking profiles, resolving author name ambiguities, identifying missing publications, correcting inaccuracies, and improving the overall representation of the scholarly record.
Researchers who need assistance obtaining or maintaining an ORCID iD may also take advantage of our ORCID iD service.
To request a Scholarly Profile Audit, please complete the Scholarly Profile Audit Request Form and a librarian will contact you to discuss your needs.
